Melaka United FC midfielder, Hasbullah Abu Bakar hopes that he and his teammates will no longer make simple mistakes, especially in the final minutes ahead of the Super League action against Terengganu FC, tonight.
He explained that Melaka had lost a lot of points in the previous three games and they need to get back up quickly to improve their league position which is currently in eighth place.
For Hasbullah, the obvious weakness seen at the moment is that the team often loses focus even though it has taken the lead at the beginning of the game, thus giving space to the opponent to score goals.
He is aware that Terengganu are now in a good momentum and they are definitely looking for a win as additional motivation, not to mention ahead of their FA Cup final action on September 10.
“The weakness I see in this team is that we easily lose focus in the final minutes and we lose a lot of points in four games.
“When we are in the lead, in the last minute the opponent must be able to score a goal back, so for the league position, we hope to be able to improve to qualify for the Malaysia Cup.
“For tonight’s action, God willing we will try to give fierce opposition even though there are actually some players who are injured”, he explained.
Hasbullah who is also a former Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) player is now trusted as the team captain after Sony Norde is still in the recovery phase.
Obviously, he refuses to waste this opportunity and will try to continue to help the team as much as possible.
“Before, it was a fierce competition to play and now I am given more and more opportunities to play, so I will give 100 percent effort.
“For myself, of course my spirit is getting higher and I will not waste the opportunity given by the coach”, he said.
In addition to the action between Terengganu and Melaka, another match will also take place tonight involving Selangor FC against JDT.
